The LARGEST HYBRID YACHT EVER BUILT
When Benetti launched FB272 M/Y Luminosity in 2020, her overall length of 107.6 meters made her the largest hybrid yacht ever built to date. Her advanced diesel-electric naval propulsion system comprises six 1,000kW generators that power two 2,200 kW ABB Azipods, while her 3 megawatt/h lithium polymer battery bank provides up to 14 hours of zero-emission power when the generators are switched off.
HYBRID TECHNOLOGY DESIGNED to DELIVER UNPARALLELED COMFORT
The FB272 M/Y Luminosity can cruise in full electric zero emission mode, covering between 12 and 15 nm. Her environmental credentials allow her privileged access to Sulphur Emission Control Areas (SECA), where strict controls are in place to minimize damage to the marine ecosystem from emissions such as SOx, NOx, ODSs, and VOCs. She can stay at anchor for up to 6 hours during the daytime and up to 14 hours at night with the generators switched off, allowing the owner and guests to enjoy vibration-free total comfort and avoiding CO2 emissions entirely. Forward-facing logic has been applied to the battery bank so that as new-generation variants are developed over the years, they can be incorporated to extend generator-free hours.
ONBOARD ENERGY
RECOVERY SYSTEMS
Heat exchangers are incorporated in the generators to recover heat energy which is used to provide hot water for the bathrooms and other service functions.
The yacht contains over 800 square meters of double-glazed glass, which provides increased thermal insulation and reduces air-conditioning energy consumption.
This is designed to recover the condensate water from the air conditioning system and make it available for different service functions such as washing the decks.
The FB272 M/Y LUMINOSITY IS the MOST SILENT SUPERYACHT EVER BUILT by BENETTI. In MANY NOBLE AREAS, the SOUND LEVEL MEASURES LESS than 35 dBA, WHICH is the SAME LEVEL of SILENCE YOU WOULD EXPECT to FIND in a LIBRARY.
