BENETTI UNVEILS THE SHIPYARD’S NEW PRODUCTS AT THE CANNES YACHTING FESTIVAL 2018
Benetti presented a preview of the shipyard’s new products: Oasis 135’, Diamond 145’ and 4 BNow models.
Oasis 135’ is a yacht designed by RWD based on a new concept that offers a contemporary take on the use of indoor and outdoor spaces, for an owner in search of a distinctly informal relationship with the sea.
Diamond 145’, the flagship of the Class product line fleet, is a yacht with a sophisticated design that represents the ultimate expression of displacement models in the Classic category.
The 4 BNow models are Custom yachts, again designed in collaboration with RWD, created to offer a modern onboard lifestyle by connecting indoor and outdoor spaces. Benetti’s advanced construction technology ensures short delivery times.
At the presentation, the sale of the first steel hull and aluminium superstructure yacht below 500 GT from the new RWD designed BNow concept was announced. The valuable customer from Middle East is a repeat customer of Benetti.
With these new products, Benetti intends to introduce new elements of style while remaining faithful to the fundamental principles that underpin its long history and tradition.
To each his own dream
Oasis 135’: a new lifestyle balanced between sport and relaxation
What is an oasis if not a point of refreshment, a dream come true that appears unexpectedly on the horizon? A promise of freshness, relief and relaxation to enjoy in complete comfort: this is the intended message conveyed by Oasis 135’, the new model in Benetti’s Class product line. Created to satisfy the needs of an active and sophisticated owner who wants to live his life at sea to the full and across the board, and who has a lifestyle focused on casual elegance, Oasis 135’ is packed with solutions in which close contact with the water plays a foreground role, as is demonstrated by the spectacular beach area with infinity pool just steps from the sea. The high ceilings, the unusual layout of the onboard spaces, and the extensive use of natural light confirm and underscore the desire to enter into a symbiotic relationship with the outside world.
This ambitious project, on which Benetti has worked in partnership with UK-based firm RWDand New York design studio Bonetti/Kozerski that has designed the interiors, revolves around an onboard lifestyle in which sporting activities alternate with periods of total relaxation. Adrian Chisnell, Team Principal at RWD, describes the concept like this: “We’ve revisited the classic concept of onboard life. Today owners don’t use their boats in the same way as in the past. This yacht reflects a new more dynamic and less formal lifestyle for active, curious owners who don’t spend much time lying in the sun because they prefer to explore and enjoy the places they’ve just reached on their yacht”.
The interiors, designed by US-based firm Bonetti/Kozerski, are casual-chic in style and reveal a highly sophisticated use of materials, colour combinations and forms of decoration, all underpinned by an elegant sense of understatement. The designers’ choice of materials for the decor includes light color leather and rosewood in light, bright colourways. Taken together, all these details define the setting and the overall effect is that of a spacious loft featuring seamless continuity between indoor and outdoor spaces, where the multi-purpose settings can be enjoyed at any time of day.
This is how Enrico Bonetti explains the essence of this project: “The spaces convey a sense of calm and are decorated with materials that exude quality. Classic materials that may not reflect the latest trends, but are certain to retain their beauty over time. This model is characterised by the understated elegance and quality on which Benetti has built its reputation”.
Sophisticated settings with a classical feel meet a dynamic lifestyle on board Oasis 135’, a 41-meter displacement yacht with a fibreglass hull and superstructure, and a layout extending across four decks.
The Master Suite on the Main Deck offers the owner a spacious apartment with an elegant marble bathroom. The galley is also situated on this deck, along with a huge day area that replaces the traditional saloon. Here, the windows around the entire perimeter can be opened to create a unique setting in close contact with the sea, with no barriers between indoor and outdoor spaces. This deck provides access to the beach terrace, which can be made even more spacious by opening the two side platforms. The yacht also has one generous balcony in the owner’s suite.
The pilot house has been designed for the first time as a living space dominated by extensive glazed surfaces, a lounge area with sofas and armchairs, and a carefully arranged workstation, in which the helm console, an area for relaxation and the chart table form a single setting from which to enjoy the cruise from start to finish. The captain’s cabin is located immediately aft of this, while the night area for guests is on the Lower Deck, with two VIP cabins and two cabins with twin beds. Further forward are the crew quarters, with accommodation for nine people.
Cruising speed stands at 14.5 knots, with a top speed of 15 knots, and the yacht has a range of 4,000 nautical miles at 11 knots.
Diamond 145’. Power and balance.
This 44-meter displacement yacht draws on the core features of the Benetti Displacement Class across its entire history.
Expert owners will be struck by a yacht that can be an integral part of their finest moments with unparalleled style, comfort and safety.
The elegant design suggests the proportions and details of a large yacht and conveys a feeling of sturdiness and power. The discreet but tangible sense of refinement will strike a chord with owners who love to combine glamour with credible practicality.
The seamless design of the huge glazed surfaces accentuates the length of the yacht and its brightly-lit interiors. The exterior styling, which stands out for its remarkable continuity of lines and surfaces, is the work of Giorgio M. Cassetta: “The Diamond 145’ represents yet another step in the evolution of the Benetti Class Displacement range. The clean, smooth lines embrace the proportions of a big yacht. The high hull sides and extremely long reverse sheer line suggest leisure cruises in complete safety, while the sculpted masses of the superstructure define a refined and dynamic style. The distribution of the settings and layout is based on meticulous optimization of the available space. My team and I have researched each detail for three years to create a yacht that is both extremely luxurious and immediately practical. The beach club in the stern, located right above the sea surface, is the most obvious novelty on the yacht, offering an independent, highly flexible and visually striking space”.
The interior design is based on roomy, welcoming settings, where the choice of light colour shades underscores the wealth of natural light. In the words of the designer, Achille Salvagni: “I want to sculpt space, giving it character, dignity and strength. I’m looking for curved lines that come together and flow. The interiors of this yacht are timeless, because they unite vintage concepts with contemporary ideas. True refinement is cosmopolitan, telling stories and recollecting memories. The settings should therefore be interpreted as a story”.
Access to the Main Deck is by two wide stairways in the stern, which are also one of the yacht’s architectural highlights. The main cockpit welcomes guests in a wide and bright setting, and leads seamlessly to the immense, fully glazed main lounge. The full-beam master cabin in the bow has a roomy wardrobe, a full-beam bathroom and a study or office. The galley and service areas are laid out to make best use of the space available, in such a way as to provide high level service on board, without encroaching on guests’ privacy.
The Upper Deck features a big outdoor area in the stern with access to the lounge, which is dominated by extensive glazed surfaces that cover 80% of the perimeter. The extremely spacious piloting area is positioned next to the captain’s cabin for perfect visibility. The bow area is the largeston the market, covering 70 square meters and featuring a remarkable custom spa pool.
The Sun Deck, over 115 square meters of outdoor space and can be furnished according to the owner’s tastes. All life rafts and all functional features are hidden or integrated in the design to avoid contaminating the purity of the yacht’s contours.
The night area for guests is on the Lower Deck and is made up of four double cabins, with the option of a fifth on the upper deck. The crew quarters and laundry are fit in the bow area.
The Beach Area and Beach Club can be fully customised and can be enjoyed both at sea and at anchor.
The two 1,400 hp Man engines will drive the Diamond 145’ to a top speed of 15 knots and at a speed of 11 knots the yacht will have a range of 3,800 nautical miles.
BNow: maximum comfort with short delivery times.
True luxury, far from mere ostentation, means having our every desire satisfied, no matter how small, and owning something unique and different from all the others, something that answers the most personal needs. This is the philosophy that underpins BNow, the family of displacement yachts with a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure in the Custom product line. Featuring streamlined exterior lines and a vertical bow, the yachts in this product family offer well-being and comfort accompanied by much shorter delivery times. With the help of Benetti’s advanced construction technology, all BNow models will be built in less than the standard time recognised by the market.
Four different lengths will be on offer: 50 meters, 55 meters, 63 meters and 68 meters in length. The result of close collaboration between Benetti and UK-based superyacht designers RWD, the yachts will have a layout that can be customized and newly designed exterior contours aligned with specific demands from various owners. In response to the original brief “to create an innovative well-being concept for the maximum comfort, light and use of spaces.” RWD have developed a seamless indoor/outdoor living area with panoramic Pool Lounge as an extension of the aft deck and Beach Club.
The creativity brought to bear by RWD has produced four models that share a unique family feeling and are immediately recognisable, with their sleek, sweeping lines. Their profile stands out for the dynamic union it creates between the decks, which have long windows that act as connecting elements in the creation of a uniquely harmonious whole and represent the main distinctive feature.
All the layouts feature a new and revolutionary concept of onboard lifestyle, because they make innovative use of the spaces from day to night.
As can be seen, this last type of yacht too reflects developments in the yachting market and the needs of a precise type of owner, one looking for a casual and contemporary feel without compromising on the highest levels of comfort and privacy.
